Easter Course 2026

Around 30 dancers gathered at Kuckucksnest for this year's Easter Course, and what a wonderful long weekend it was!

Heather had put together a lively and varied programme with plenty of interesting dances to learn and enjoy. We spent our days dancing, laughing, and discovering new formations and choreographies, with just enough attention to technique along the way to help everything flow smoothly. There was always something new to look forward to, and the sessions passed far too quickly.

A particular highlight was dancing to live music. Anselm's playing added energy and warmth to every session. Many dances seemed to come alive in a special way, and it was a pleasure to dance to such wonderful accompaniment throughout the weekend. A particular highlight were also spontaneous guest musicians, who traded their dance shoes for their instruments and helped make the evening dances even more special!
The evenings were just as enjoyable as the dancing with plenty of time to enjoy the company of old friends and make new ones. The friendly atmosphere and sense of community are always among the best parts of these weekends.

Kuckucksnest itself provided the perfect setting, as usual. Between classes, many of us took the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful spring countryside. The fresh air, green hills, and peaceful surroundings offered a welcome contrast to the activity in the dance hall and made the weekend feel like a real holiday. Hunting for Easter eggs in the beautiful gardens was great fun as well as a great challenge.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our hosts, who looked after us so well. The food was delicious, healthy, and pletiful, keeping us well supplied with energy for dancing. Their warm hospitality helped create the welcoming atmosphere that made the course so special.

By the end of the weekend, we headed home with tired feet, happy memories, and a long list of dances we would love to dance again. Thank you to Heather, Anselm, our hosts, and all the participants for a fantastic Easter Course.

We are already looking forward to the next one!
