Young Dancers' Workshop & Social Dance

29-30 September 2018, Heidelberg, Germany

The Young Dancers Workshop is a weekend course for young dancers. The workshop is mainly aimed at young adults, but dancers from the full Spring-Fling-Age-Spectrum (12-35) are welcome. It will consist of two courses, one for beginners (taught in German) and a second one for dancers of level intermediate and up (taught in English). These will be taking place in parallel, at the same venue. Please note that older dancers are also welcome to register for the Beginners class, although young dancers will be prioritised.
The weekend is financially supported by an RSCDS Youth Development Grant.

On Saturday evening there will be a Social Dance, open to dancers of all ages, no prior attendance of the workshop required.

The school is generously allowing us to use their rooms for free. However, to cover their expenses, they would kindly ask for a donation on a completely voluntary basis. To facilitate this, we will bring a donation box to the workshop, and we would greatly appreciate it, if you considered donating. Recommended donations are 5€/10€/15€ depending on whether you will be attending the evening dance/the workshop/the workshop and stay at the school, respectively.

Accommodation

For both nights, from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, it is possible to stay at the venue (free of charge, optionally for a voluntary donation, see above). Please bring a sleeping bag and a air mattress/camping mat if you opt for this. The school has showers that can be used by workshop participants.
Since the school is in a somewhat remote location, we recommend this option for participants without a car.

A cheapish alternative, for all those who prefer real beds, is the Youth Hostel, where Bed&Breakfast is available for 27,90€/34,40€ per night.

Fees & Payment

The the price for the workshop and dance are not yet set, but we are aiming for a fee that is similar to the 35€/25€/10€ (Inters+ Class/Beginners Class/Social Dance) of last years YDW. There is a 10 € discount for pupils / students / trainees ... for the workshop.

Cancellations

Cancellations free of charge are possible up to three weeks before the event (07/9/2018). After that, the full fee has to be paid.

The small-print

In the unlikely case of unforeseen events, e.g. an illness, teachers and/or musicians might be replaced, or a course altogether cancelled.
Special rules apply for under-age participants.

Liability

Participants are responsible and liable for themselves, their property, and any damage caused to the venue. They participate at their own risk. (Organisers are exempt from liability.)
