Finally made it to the Kuckucksnest! - 2 enthusiastic accounts of first time guests

I had the November course on my radar for years and finally in 2025 the stars aligned. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but upon arriving at the Kuckucksnest I quickly settled into the homely vibes, catching up with friends and enjoying the epic vegetation food. There were plenty of interesting dances and connections to home with Andrew Timmons originally hailing from Australia including a number of Australian and New Zealand dances. 

What I didn’t expect was the glorious weather and getting amongst the countryside for daily hikes (thank you Antoine!) and a quick visit to Fulda for the Christmas markets which were also excellent. Wolfgang’s feuerzangenbowle was also a real treat. I highly recommend the November course as a very friendly and welcoming event with excellent dancing & cosy areas for socialising. Will definitely be back!

Couple a weeks ago I was in Germany at the Kuckucksnest. I had a blast as it was such a great atmosphere and being taught by Andrew Timmons was great too because I have never been taught by him. I liked the dances he picked, they were good fun and it was nice to do dances that I had never done before from Australia and New Zealand. Everyone was so welcoming from doing some sightseeing, to going on walks and visiting the Fulda Christmas market whilst also dancing in between it was so good and then at night playing different types of card games. It was just so much fun and hope to be back again some time in the future ????????????
